香港出臺的《港區國安法》引起了一些西方政界人士的批評，但英國地緣政治專家、英國「一帶一路」倡議全黨議會小組顧問阿夫塔德·薩杜基（Aftab Sadduqui）表示，維護國家安全是每個國家的合法權利。

英國、美國或其他任何國家是否會允許外國勢力進入並搜尋當地人，並試圖破壞經濟穩定？ 當然，他們不會。 如果他們不允許在自己的後院，為什麼他們不允許其他國家修某些法律漏洞。 我認為西方世界還必須理解並尊重他人在自己國家地區實施的系統。

Would any other country like Britain， USA or anybody else would allow foreign powers to come in and searching up the locals and try to destabilize the economy? Well they would not. If they would not allow in their own backyard， why would they like kind of certain legal loopholes to continue. I think the Western world also has to understand and respect systems which other people have implemented in their country who have delivered for their country.
