馬來西亞學者邦恩·納加拉（Bunn Nagara）日前接受采访时表示，香港的未來依賴於中國內地，外國干預香港事務是大國再次玩弄以干涉其他國家內政的老把戏，中國需警惕外國勢力再次伸手。

事實是，香港是中國的一部分，它不是任何其他國家的一部分。因此，香港的未來取決於中國，而不是其他任何國家。所以只有中國才有助於確定香港的未來。那些不明白這一點或不接受這一點的人將不得不吸取一個非常艱難的教訓。同樣，舉著外國國旗，不管是國旗還是美國國旗，都表明他們並不是真正為自由和民主而戰。如果他們為成為外國殖民地而鬥爭，那又怎麼可能是為了自由或民主呢？實際上那會令香港成為一個外國的殖民地前哨，被外國列強以非常愚蠢的方式加以利用和濫用。像美國這樣的大國，多年來已經對不同的國家玩過這種把戲，所以我們又在香港看到了這種把戲。

The fact is that Hong Kong is part of China， it's not part of any other country. The future of Hong Kong， therefore， depends on China and not any other country. So it's only China that will help to determine the future of Hong Kong. Those who don't understand that or don't accept that will have to learn a very difficult lesson. Again that， by holding a foreign flag， whether it's a Union Jack or the US flag， shows that they are not really fighting for freedom and democracy. If they are fighting to become a colony of a foreign country， how can that be for freedom or democracy? That is to become a colonial outpost of a foreign country to be used and abused by foreign powers in a very stupid way. Big powers like the US have been playing this kind of game for many years already with different countries and we are seeing this kind of game， again.
